Why Sid Savers?

Are you like many collectors who have a box of Sid Dickens Memory Blocks in your closet?

Are you unsure of how and what to hook them on?

Have you heard the horror stories of special blocks crashing down to the floor due to insufficient weight bearing hooks?

Do you cringe when you walk past your display and see tiles tilted in different directions?

Or do you simply want a more secure method of installing your precious Memory Blocks snuggly against your wall?

“Sid Savers: Designed Specifically for Sid Dickens Memory Blocks”

Sid Savers were created to provide Collectors with a safer way to display their Memory Blocks.
If you are installing the Sid Saver into drywall, using a drill-driver, there is no need to pre-drill holes. The screws will self-thread into the wall-board.
The screws will also accept both Phillips Head Drivers and #2 Square-Head Drivers (square-head works best).
The Screw hole is placed a bit off center in the Sid Saver, towards the top, to allow for some adjustment of the Tile after the Sid Saver has been installed. Tiles can be shifted to the left or right by turning the Sid Saver 90-degrees to the left or right, or raised by turning the Sid Saver 180-degrees (upside-down).

Happy Tile Hanging!

The Makers of Sid Savers donate 100% of their proceeds to charity.

Retailers and New Blog

We’ve finally updated our Retailers page. If we’ve left someone out, please let us know and we’ll get you added.

Also, check out our new Sid Savers Blog. Right now it’s pretty much the same old stuff that you see here. But, as we move ahead with our adoption, we’ll be sharing some fun, exciting and personal updates with you. We hope you’ll visit us!

New Retailers

There are many new retailers who now carry Sid Savers! They will be added to our Retailer Page within the next few days. Please check back and see the updated list.

We want to thank the collectors who have suggested Sid Savers to their retailers. The more Sid Savers we sell, the more money we forward on to Children’s Hunger Fund!  Also, a special thanks to all of you retailers that send us checks made payable to CHF! You are a huge blessing to many hungry bellies!

Have a blessed day!

Children’s Hunger Fund and Adoption

Wow! It’s been a while since we posted any news. Here’s a quick update as to what’s going on.

First of all, we would like to thank the retailers and collectors that help support Children’s Hunger Fund by purchasing Sid Savers. We make absolutely no profit! ALL of our proceeds go directly to CHF and benefit children all over the world.

Please keep three things in mind when purchasing Sid Savers:

1. ALL of our proceeds go directly to helping others through Children’s Hunger Fund, not in our pockets.  In fact, we lose money making Sid Savers. We do not reimburse ourselves for materials.
2. Purchasing Sid Saver “copy cats” means less money going to help hungry children. If you’re not familiar with Children’s Hunger Fund, I encourage you to take a look at their organization. Their link is on the sidebar. You will be pleasantly surprised by the great work they do. Every dollar counts!!
3.  Sid Savers are made from birch veneer, not particle board. Particle board is inferior. It chips and flakes easily. Birch veneer is stronger and lasts much longer.

Last, but not least, Adopt-A-Tile has come to an end and our adoption process is coming right along! All of our paperwork is complete and we are now in the waiting stage. We plan on sharing all of the exciting details after we have our daughter home. We appreciate all of you who helped out with Adopt-A-Tile. It gave us a great start to get the ball rolling! And, for those of you who cringed at the thought of selling your own collections, we still have some beautiful Sid Dickens Memory Block arrangements throughout our home. Thank you for your support and prayers.

Blessings,
Ron and Teri

We’re Making Progress

Adoption is a long and expensive progress. We’re thankful to God  that each day we get closer and closer to a child being placed with their family. We’ve been quiet here at Sid Savers while we’ve had to wait to see how all of this will play out. We’re  excited to see the direction this is going in.

It’s time for us to promote the Adopt-A-Tile fundraiser again!

We want to thank all of the Sid Dicken’s Memory Block collectors who have made generous offers in the past. We realize the secondary market is somewhat soft. But, we hope you will continue to make offers that are above the current sales for this very worthy cause.

Blessings,

Ron and Teri

***Offers that don’t reflect a reasonable secondary market value or higher will not be considered. If you are uncertain about the secondary market value of any tile, visit Sidclopedia. The owner of this site has put many hours into this very useful resource for Sid Dickens Memory Block Collectors. However, while we consider the current selling trend on eBay and through private sales, neither dictate the final cost of a tile.

Sid Savers

We’ve had a few requests from collectors wanting to purchase Sid Savers directly from us. When we made the commitment to donate all proceeds to Children’s Hunger Fund we decided at that time to sell exclusively to retailers.  Here are our reasons why:

*Retailers have already written out a check to Children’s Hunger Fund for their purchase, and we are grateful to them for supporting such a worthy cause! The more Sid Savers the retailers sell, the more money Children’s Hunger Fund gets!

*Retailers can pack  and ship them faster and for less money than we can. We’re learning that this step is very time consuming. =)

*For us to accept payment for Sid Savers could raise question as to what we are doing with the money. We desire to be held above reproach.  We do not want there to be even a hint of  personal gain on our part.

Thank you for understanding our position.
